Kindergarten Academy is an 8 week fundamental field hockey program providing the foundational tools of field hockey play while emphasizing a fun physical activity. Each week, our kindergartners will meet for one hour to learn skills pivotal to their development using a method developed by USA Field Hockey. Our goal is to provide an avenue to play field hockey for years to come and more importantly, have fun!
Kindergarten Academy will primarily focus on skill development and the games played will be to emphasize the skills learned that week and prior. Players will be given a tshirt as part of their uniform to wear each week. This will be built into the registration fee.
All players will need to supply their own equipment. We will have a few extras for when a child may forget theirs. Equipment includes Field Hockey Stick, mouth guard, shin guards and regulation approved Field Hockey Goggles (not Lacrosse Goggles they are different). FH shin guards are different than Soccer; however, at the Kindergarten level, either form will work.
Our Kindergarten Academy players will not be participating in any official games or travel for tournaments. The commitment and expectation is to attend each of the 8 sessions that runs concurrently with the BYFH schedule.
Costs for the Kindergarten Academy Program is $50 per child and there is a $25 sibling discount (flat discount fee across the registration) if there are multiple children registered.
